About this collection
In a time when the present flows like a stream of data and the future is constantly calculated by invisible algorithms, Doe builds a new deck of digital arcana. Each work in the series is a luminous card, suspended between prophecy and simulation, reinterpreting the language of tarot to narrate the myths and fears of a world governed by signals, networks, and backlit surfaces.
The screen becomes an altar, a place where ancient symbols return speaking in electronic voices. Masked, crowned, or blindfolded figures embody eternal archetypes — the trickster, the sovereign, the judge, the prophet, yet bend them to the tensions of our present: disinformation, hunger for control, probabilistic justice, incorruptible memory. Each face is at once a portrait and an interface, a human presence and the diagram that measures, categorizes, and interprets it.
The visual grammar merges retro-futurist aesthetics with computational codes: vector grids, diagnostic glyphs, subtle glitches, and metallic reflections shape bodies that seem to appear and dissolve at the same time, like apparitions in a space made of pure information. Pulses of magenta and green cut through deep black, evoking a limbo where intuition and calculation brush against each other without ever merging. Jewelry, crowns, and masks act as new suits, decipherable emblems that expand the traditional iconography of tarot into a constellation updated for the screen age.
The composition is rigorous, almost liturgical: centered silhouettes, measured negative space, calculated gleams and wear, as if each portrait were etched into the memory of a machine that can both forget and remember. The entire series is conceived as a deck to be browsed, questioned, and combined. Linear order gives way to personal constellations, cross-readings, and symbolic short circuits.
Doe does not offer answers, but mirrors. To look at these images is to accept being looked at by them, like cards drawn from a future that already knows too much. Ultimately, the series suggests that humanity will keep rewriting its symbols to navigate chaos, and that meaning, now as then, emerges each time a human gaze lingers long enough on a luminous surface.
